Hooves-ray! Pretty Pastures

April 10th, 2007

The beautiful trees, shrubs and flowers in our pasture make for happy COWs. Native plants are not only beautiful but tend to be water resistant and good for the environment and yummy. That’s why we applaud the Woodside-Atherton Garden Club. Its stated goal is to educate about horticultural
subjects, to stimulate interest in the beautification of our pastures, and promote conservation.
This Club gets full credit for creating the unusual Woodside Library Native Plant Garden. Club members take care of the garden and local landscapers even donate their help with heavy landscape work and high tree pruning. If you haven’t seen it, check it out it is really mooving . Plants have labels with botanical and common names so you can know what you are looking at and the library keeps a book with photos and further information

The Club will hold its annual plant sale featuring a large variety of unusual and hard-to-find plants, propagated by members from their own gardens, at the same time the library has its April book sale. So you can pony up for beauty and wisdom /cow sense at the same time. The sale is on Saturday April 28th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Check out the Club’s website http://www.woodsideathertongc.com/plantsale.html for more information. Here’s to keeping it green!
